Bell Bottoms and the story of youth

April 4th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

Bell bottoms are to me the icon of youth. It seems that 2011 brings them back on the catwalk. Skinny says nothing more, so now we go back, again, to the legendary bell bottoms, with the look that says 70′s are glamor and bohemian. We have already two generations, 25 years apart, who share this item as the ultimate expression of living life to the full.

This piece of clothing speaks to me. High or low waist, never in baggy versions (attention! for this year baggy is completely out of the question!), bell bottoms speak of nights in fields of green with The Doors as a soundtrack. They tell me the story of my college years, with vintage bags and sun laughing on my shoulders.

Bell bottoms bear the imprint of emotion. I may have tried to choose the most sexy, or classy dresses for my big formal events. But I always wore bell bottoms for the real emotional times. Hippie shivers and first kisses, the cool look of artistic intelligence, the feel of my body being more than sexy. Their ability to sculpture a woman’s figure in this beautiful tall hourglass always make me hold my breath in front of a mirror.

And there, this year again, they are back as le chic du chic!

Wear them because:

They will make you look slim and tall
When you wiggle your hips, they respond with this waving movement around your ankles that will make your walk feel sexy and cool.
They will go wonderfully with stretch shirts as well as with weightless silk ones.
They will make you feel strong and dreamy at the same time, feel the wind and enjoy walking on your hot platforms!
